3 Musketeers "Mint with Dark Chocolate"

Fluffy and minty, that's really the best way to describe this strange little bar. I should tell you right off the bat that I'm normally not a big fan of nougat. That's the stuff in the middle of a regular 3 musketeers bar. Actually I'm generally not a fan of the type nougat specifically in a 3 musketeers, as I prefer that my nougat is not over fluffed. This bar on the other hand has a great advantage, it's not nougat.

What it is instead is a fluffy mint crème, and it works really well. The texture is kind of like an After Eight chocolates crème but a little fluffier. It's nice and the mint flavour isn't overpowering. The chocolate isn't the highest quality but it really doesn't have to be. The mint is the much more dominant taste in the bar and the chocolate although slightly important is more of a vessel for the mint fluff. I guess what I'm saying is that the mint fluff would be kind of sticky and hard to eat without the chocolate so it doesn't have to be that great.

I think this bar would have been better with a higher quality chocolate, but it didn't ruin it for me. I like this idea of fluffy mint filling too. I suggest if any fine chocolate makers are out there that they try making this themselves with higher quality ingredients.
