Nothing - not a clue. That's what I know about this treat before
biting into it. That's also what I expect, and possibly how I'll
feel after eating it. This is a tender time for a Candy Critic.
You sit looking at the bag wondering... no dreaming... of what's
to come. I used to not even look at the ingredients before I bit
into a new treat, but those days of optimism are long gone. Too
many bad surprises. So here goes, let's see what I get.
I popped it into my mouth and bit. Is that correct? It's either
a really brittle suck candy or a really strange chew candy. I
think I should re-think my strategy, although it's basically fallen
apart in my mouth at this point and disintegrated. Is it supposed
to do that? Well of course it is, or it wouldn't. Right?
The taste is molasses, a really strong molasses. I can't say
I'm a big fan. I've always considered molasses good for flavouring
things as an aid, not as the main coarse. I don't think I really
like them, although the experience was great. The tension, the
intrigue, all that goes into trying something new. Aah, the life.
It's not so bad that I would call it a bad experience, it's just
an experience I'd rather not do again.
