Chocolate
covered... Does it get any better. What won't they cover in chocolate? If you check out your local candy store today the number of things companies are covering in chocolate is amazing, you would think that anything would sell if you just cover it in a little coco covering. Well I couldn't agree more, so far I have yet to find one thing that doesn't taste good with a chocolate goo over it. That is exactly why I own a fondue maker, not once have I used it for cheese. What I have done here is compiled a little list of things I have enjoyed that are covered in chocolate. I consider something "chocolate covered" when it would normally not be eaten with a chocolate coating, so things like chocolate bars would not really count. I'm also not including bugs covered in chocolate because it's more of a novelty than a real snack. Let me know if you find anything else that taste great covered up in chocolate.
Chocolate
covered almondsTo me these are the cream of the crop when it comes to chocolate covered nuts. They're also work when you need something a little classy. If you want to impress a date this is the way to go.
Chocolate covered
espresso beansTrouble sleeping? Well this is not going to help you at all. The novelty of this candy is how much energy can you get in one bite. If you like coffee you will love this stuff. It also a great way to stay awake for an all nighter.
Chocolate covered
caramel cornThis is what I call too much for one thing. Regular popcorn might be good but I find that the caramel corn is way too much. I also find that the texture is really weird probably because by the time the candy is shipped out the popcorn gets really stale.
Chocolate covered
cookie dough and brownie bitsThis is something fairly new to me and there not too bad. The only problem I find with these things is when you eat too much you get really sick, faster than with many other candies. The taste is so good though, although they do taste very similar.
Chocolate covered
jujubesToo sweet, and I don't mean this as a compliment. These things (like the caramel corn) is too much. The other problem is the fruity taste of the jujubes, they just don't work with chocolate. I have to say that these are one of the worst chocolate covered candies ever.
Chocolate covered
oreo cookiesTo die and go to heaven is eating one a chocolate covered oreo cookie. These things are amazing, if you can't find them yourself, make a chocolate fondue and dip your cookies. The taste isn't everything either, the texture is perfect, I can't say enough about these treats, make them a regular pick up at your local bulk store.
Chocolate covered
peanutsA true classic, for years this has been a staple of candy lovers around the world. There is nothing that spectacular about them, and that is what makes them so great.
Chocolate covered
pretzelOnly chocolate covered oreo are better than these bad boys. If you have never tried these before I can see how you might be a little apprehensive, but bite in and you'll love them. Most people think that salt and chocolate don't mix, but you couldn't be more wrong, mixed properly they are the best of friends. This is another great treat for all.
Chocolate covered
raisinsMuch like the peanut, the chocolate covered raisin is a classic and except for the look these make great snacks.
Chocolate
covered Key Lime Pie on a stickRecently I took a trip to Key West and I had the opportunity to sample Key Lime Pie in many different forms. Chocolate covered on a stick was the best. If your in that neck of the woods I recommend it highly.
What an odd combination Red Licorice and chocolate, well it seems to work. It's tasty and not too overpowering, maybe it's something worth marketing.
Chocolate Covered
HazelnutIf you love Nutella your gonna love these as well. It's basically the same thing but with a more subtle hazelnut taste. The texture is great and the flavor blends two of the perfect blends in the candy world.
Chocolate
Covered CherryChocolaty would be a great way to describe these, I really couldn't taste the cherry until I chewed it for a while, but when I did get to the cherry, it was great. I love cherries and the flavor is pretty real, I can't taste much if any synthetic flavor, it seems to be real. The red colored chocolate is a little odd much like the blueberries.
Chocolate Covered
BlueberryAlthough they have a blueberry flavor they really don't have much fruit in them. I also can't figure out the blue chocolate on the outside. For the most part they aren't that bad considering the fruit is dried. If you want a really great experience try covering fresh blueberries with chocolate, but I guess they wouldn't last as long in your pocket.
Chocolate
Covered Orange PeelThis must be an acquired taste, for the most part orange and chocolate are a great combination but this is really odd. If has almost a bitter taste to it with a very strong after taste. I'm not too sure what to say about this treat, try it but don't go buying pounds of it because you might not like it that much.
Chocolate Covered
Gummy BearsWhat a great snack, you might think that these treats would be similar to the Juju covered in chocolate, but they really aren't. The extra soft texture and unique flavor really work well with the chocolate. It could be that the particular treats I tried where made with good quality chocolate but even so this really works well. Just don't get too many, they might be a little too sweet.
Chocolate
Covered AppleAddictive, man these things really are great. The first one I tried I really didn't think much of it, but if you pop the whole thing in your mouth these things rock. The texture takes a little getting used to but ones the chocolate melts in your mouth the texture takes on a whole new meaning.
I know that there are many other types of chocolate covered candy, and I'm sure that I will add to this list in the future. So if you can't find it dipped in chocolate dip it yourself.
