Peanut Butter Log

Whenever I see these I feel like I should be pouring milk over them. They just look like cereal.

The best way to describe these is that they're very similar to a Crispy Crunch or in some ways Butterfinger. I'd say probably more like a Crispy Crunch because they're really peanutty, hence the name. The strange thing is although I tasted peanuts I didn't actually bite into one, in fact the texture isn't peanut like at all and that throws my texture senses into a tizzy.

The real problem I have with this snack isn't the peanut flavour though; in fact I really like that. What I can't understand is the coconut on the outside. I'm not a big fan of coconut as it is so I'm sure that plays a roll in my opinion but I really don't think this works. I don't think this works even if you like coconut, it just seems to really detract from the tasty nutty flavour and detraction in flavour can ruin a treat.

I'm not sure how they could change it either and still keep it original. I mean if you cover it in chocolate then you just have a Crispy Crunch or Butterfinger, but for the life of me I can't figure out what else you could cover this with and still make it work. I guess that's a challenge to any and all candy companies.
