Hershey Sticks 'Caramel Filled Milk Chocolate'
Hershey
Here's an idea I love and hate all at the same time. Candy
Critic has always been a firm supporter in the idea that moderation is
the best way to eat candy and still be healthy. Don't eat a large chocolate
bar, just eat a piece, also don't eat anything pick and choose new and
great things. Variety is more important than quantity in our candy world.
So the size of this bar is a great idea, it allows people to enjoy a treat
but not overindulge. My problem is I've often seen it sell for almost
the price of a full version of the same treat. I'm also not a big fan
of the fact that they're just making the same bars they already have why
not try something new and interesting with the format.
As far as the treat goes it's ok, the chocolate is a little
heavy compared to the caramel. A good caramel to chocolate ratio is not
an easy thing to achieve but it's so important. I'm sure the chocolate
is thicker to support the bar, but then why make this particular treat
in this shape. Don't ever let novelty rule a treat, it can be fun but
taste and texture are two marks here and novelty is just one.
Sure if you can't stop eating chocolate and you need something
to help you calm down it's a fine idea, but I would much rather suggest
just buying a regular chocolate bar and eating it a little slower.
