Honey Delights 'Lemon'

This candy officially falls under the category “why didn’t anybody else think of this”. It’s a great idea that frankly is so simple that it’s a surprise that a million other candy companies haven’t thought of this. A few other food companies have started to think along the same lines as theses guys but candy companies are a little bit behind. What I’m talking about is the fact that what I’m eating right now is simple a small chunk of hardened honey.

In this particular case there’s also a little bit of lemon in it too, but basically I’m just sucking on some honey. You may not know this but honey is one of my favourite sugars. It’s pretty much tied with maple syrup. So the idea of just having a nice little candy that taste like honey and lemon really puts a smile on my face. The simplicity of the idea however doesn’t reflect in the taste.

I imagine making such a treat you have to boil up the honey and then let it settle again. In doing this it creates a certain strong slightly burnt favour. This flavour is a little harsh at first but after a minute of sucking your taste buds catch up and the strength of the flavour is really nice. Simple made right, a great feat in candy creativity.
