Hot Tamales 'Spiced Flavored Jelly Beans'
Just Born
This is an interesting idea with jellybeans, it's a way
of intruding more flavours that are a little out of the ordinary, and
for the most part I like out of the ordinary. The other fact is that green
mint jelly beans are my absolute favourite so it was really cool to see
a company go not only in a new direction but in a direction led by something
I love.
To start off the green was pretty much the perfect bridge
from old jellybeans to this new flavour. The pink and white was the next
logical step. At first I was concerned that Wintergreen (Pink) and Peppermint
(white) would be too similar to the green (spearmint) jellybeans but really
they had such different unique flavours. The red was a nice cinnamon flavour,
which fortunately didn't have too much kick to it. If they had have made
the red super spicy it would have thrown off the balance with the other
cool flavours. Now we get to clove (yellow).
I can't say I'm a big fan of this flavour, I mean it was
pretty close to the real thing, but I don't think I've ever had a desire
to eat cloves on their own. Cloves are a great accent spice, and make
some baked goods taste great. They also smell great with oranges around
the holiday season. I just don't think it works as a Jellybean on it's
own. Maybe a handful of orange jellybeans might be the perfect trick.
