M&M's Premiums 'Triple Chocolate'
Mars
The basic idea of this treat really appealed to me. I
thought it would be a really cool idea for every candy company to make
a special edition of their bars in a high end way. Why not try a better
quality chocolate, a different candy, something to give whatever you're
making a little extra class. I think most people would agree that your
average chocolate bar could be taken to such great heights with the right
ingredients.
The idea is fantastic; this particular delivery however
was a little disappointing. First of all the chocolate was so imbalanced.
I figure a triple chocolate treat should have equal parts of each chocolate,
if not in quantity then definitely in taste. All I could taste in these
was the milk chocolate. The white and dark chocolate where just thin shells
around a normal glob of milk chocolate.
That takes me to the shell. Or lack of shell to be exact.
I'm not sure why you would market M&Ms and get rid of the candy shell.
Sure you want the chocolate to shine, but the shell in an M&M is essential.
In this case it was so thin I couldn't even taste or feel it at all. Finally
the biggest disappointment is that the chocolate really didn't seem that
much better than the quality you might find in a standard M&M. I was
expecting something really special and I got something that was just ok.
