Peanut Coconut Brittle
Quality Super Tasty
As always with coconut treats I have to mention that I'm
not a big fan of coconut. I should however mention that I'm getting more
and more into it as time passes. I'm not sure if that's a sign of old
age or if I'm just opening my eyes to this strange "nutty" treat.
The nice thing about this particular treat is it's not
your average Peanut Brittle. The nicer thing about this treat is that
the coconut doesn't really affect the flavour at all. The difference is
that the brittle seems to be a little more burnt, and that's a good thing.
It also seems to have this strange after taste that a few friends that
tried this didn't like but I didn't mind it. I figure it might be some
kind of flavouring because people that enjoy Indian food liked this while
those that weren't big fans didn't like it at all.
Did I mention this is Indian? Who knew that Peanut Brittle
was big there?
The biggest downfall of this treat had to be the freshness
of the peanuts, or the lack of. They where pretty stale, although shipping
stuff to Canada from India could be the problem. Maybe with better quality
nuts I would have really gotten a kick out of this but it did take a lot
away.
