Eat your head

It's not often I let other people do reviews; in fact it almost never happens. Even more rare is when I let someone else do a review and I don't do one myself. The difference here is the sweet treat. Marina Malvada is the creator of Chocolate Skulls, most definitely one of the most creative forms I've ever seen chocolate made. Even more interesting is the fact that it's based off a real skull.

I'd ask Marina about how she got the skull mold or whose skull it is but I may not like the answer. The cool thing about her treat is how real they look. Hey wait a minute I may have figured it out. Maybe Marina found a world filled with people that have chocolate bones and she killed them all, now she takes their bones and sells them to naive candy fanatics like me. I say Marina take us to your land of chocolate boned people and introduce us to their leaders.

On the other hand maybe she's just really creative.

Either way here's Marina's review of her chocolate skulls:

Chocolate Skulls

If the logic of making skulls out of chocolate isn’t immediately apparent, you should talk to Marina Malvada, creator of chocolateskulls.com. She’ll tell you how the notion came to her in a flash of inspiration, while casting an actual human skull.

“I was buying some silicone, when I learned about food grade silicone. I thought to myself, “Forget plaster. I should be casting these in chocolate!” says Ms. Malvada.

These anatomically correct, life sized skulls are made from an original blend of the finest Belgian white, and just enough milk chocolate to give it that chillingly realistic bone colour.

They make an ideal Hallowe’en treat. The chocolate keeps indefinitely if you store it in the fridge. Ms. Malvada says she’s just recently finished eating her first cast, which she made last October, and the flavour and texture was excellent until the very end.
