Trident Layers 'Wild Strawberry + Tangy Citrus
Trident
I think that the sticks of this gum might be a little
thicker than most small stick gums. I don't have a reference for a regular
stick of gum right now but I'm really sure it must be thicker. Maybe the
idea of this gum is to take two sticks of citrus gum and glue them together
with some kind of strawberry sticky stuff. I use the word idea because
frankly I couldn't really taste any citrus or strawberry per se. Instead
I tasted something that resembled a melon flavour instead.
There was a hint of “tangy” when I first bit
into the stick but it pretty much disappeared after a few chews. I really
couldn't find any sort of strawberry at all except for the fact that the
middle layer was red. Even stranger, was this menthol flavour that kind
of snuck up on me after a few minutes of chewing. It wasn't a bad flavour
at all; in fact I've developed a taste for fruit and menthol together.
The gum itself was a little hard at first but it softened
up pretty quick and soon it was just fine. If you're looking for a sour
citrus and sweet strawberry flavour this might not be the treat for you.
Unless you believe that citrus and strawberry together tastes like honeydew
melon.
