Tukish Delight
?
Man if this is how the Turks enjoy treats then that seems
like a country of good times. Now this isn't the first time I've ever
eaten Turkish Delight. The first time I tried it I was in Istanbul lost
on a bus with my mother. We wanted to go to the Blue Mosque (which is
completely strange because it seemed a little more white than blue), but
we had boarded a bus going the wrong direction and couldn't speak a word
of Turkish. A nice lady on the bus that spoke English told us that we
where going the wrong way and she told us that she'd take us there. On
our way she decided to show us a candy store that had been open since
before Jesus was born. There I tried some Turkish Delight that would blow
your socks off.
These cubes are a little more gummy like than the stuff
I remember from my travels. The flavours are a little stronger and a little
fruitier. I also think the jelly is a little more solid. I don't think
it ruins the treat at all, and I'm sure the solidity has more to do with
shipping than anything else. Basically I think these are pretty tasty
and I'd get them again. I'm pretty sure as well that my memory of the
Turkish Delight in Turkey is a little bit clouded with the grandness of
the whole situation.
Oh and by the was the Blue Mosque was really cool
